Robinhood Launches Agentic Trading and AI-Powered Credit Card Services
Robinhood built its retail brokerage business on commission-free trading and is now moving AI beyond investment advice into financial agents that can execute tasks directly. Two new services allow third-party AI systems to connect to accounts through MCP and automatically place trades or make payments. For a platform with about 27 million funded accounts, the move brings automation tools once geared toward professional institutions into personal finance while increasing the risks of erroneous decisions and inadequate fund controls.
Robinhood launched the services on May 27, 2026. Agentic Trading initially supports stocks in beta, with users placing funds in a separate account that limits how much the AI can access. Agentic Credit Card is available to Gold Card customers, who can set monthly limits, require approval for each transaction and earn 3% cash back. The primary card number is not disclosed to the AI, virtual cards can be deleted, and support for the Platinum Card is expected later this year.
