Foreign capital inflows are a gauge of international investors’ confidence in Taiwan and an important indicator of funding momentum in the stock market and movements in the New Taiwan dollar. The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to track foreign capital flows. Since the start of 2026, financial and electronics companies have been central to foreign investors’ positioning because of earnings and growth prospects.
FSC data showed foreign investors recorded net inflows of $20.852 billion in May 2026, equivalent to about NT$654.4 billion and the highest figure ever for the month. Cumulative net inflows in the first five months of 2026 exceeded NT$2 trillion, with net buying concentrated in other electronics, financial and insurance, and electronic-components shares.
