Ethereum Foundation Researcher Josh Stark Announces Departure
The Ethereum Foundation supports research, protocol development and public goods across the Ethereum ecosystem. Josh Stark spent five years at the foundation as both a researcher and project manager. His departure is among its most prominent personnel changes since a leadership overhaul in 2025.
Stark recently announced that he was leaving the Ethereum Foundation but has not disclosed his next move. Another longtime contributor, Trent Van Epps, resigned the previous week. The back-to-back departures of two core members show that the organizational and governance changes launched by the foundation in 2025 are continuing.
