Natural Secures $100 Million Upper90 Facility for AI Agent Payments

2 reports · First detected 2026-08-21 · Last active 2026-08-21

Artificial-intelligence agents are beginning to move beyond generating recommendations toward purchasing services, initiating payments and managing funds with limited human intervention. That shift requires financial infrastructure capable of handling identity, authorization, settlement and credit for machine-led transactions. Natural is building a payments technology stack for that emerging market, positioning its platform to support autonomous agents conducting commerce across borders and within the broader global economy.

Natural said in August 2026 that it secured a credit facility of as much as $100 million from investment firm Upper90 to meet rising payment and financing needs tied to AI agents. The arrangement is a line of credit that can be drawn under agreed terms, rather than a $100 million equity investment received upfront. Natural plans to use the capacity to expand its payments infrastructure and support agents that autonomously allocate funds and execute global transactions.

Natural Raises $30 Million to Build AI Agent Payment Rails2026-07-22 · 3 reports · similarity 0.87

AI agents are evolving from software assistants into financial actors capable of holding funds, paying invoices and transacting across currencies and networks. Natural, founded by Kahlil Lalji, Eric Wang and Walt Leung, is building infrastructure for that shift. Its pitch is that payment systems designed around human checkout flows do not adequately address agent identity, permissions, fraud controls, compliance and observability, all of which will be critical if agentic commerce scales.

Natural said on July 20, 2026, that it raised a $30 million Series A led by Kirsten Green at Forerunner, taking total funding above $40 million. The company also made six products generally available: Wallets, Vaults, Pay, Request, Transfer and Connect. Deposits in Wallet accounts are held through Column N.A. and may qualify for pass-through FDIC insurance. Natural plans to roll out Voice, Accept and Cards in the coming months, followed by Charge, Credit, Direct and Billing in the fourth quarter.
