ByteDance signed a $29.6 billion syndicated loan agreement with 28 banks, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and HSBC Holdings, Bloomberg reported on Sept. 14, 2026. The facility was increased from an initial $20 billion target after strong lender demand. Fifteen Chinese banks committed $18.9 billion, or 64% of the total; ICBC provided $3 billion, Bank of China $2.5 billion and China Construction Bank $1.5 billion. The three-year loan can be extended to five years and is expected to support overseas AI and data-center projects.
