Crypto Rally Spreads to Dog and Cat Memecoins
Memecoins are highly speculative crypto assets whose prices are driven largely by online attention, trading momentum and investor risk appetite rather than cash flows or conventional fundamentals. When major cryptocurrencies rally, traders often rotate into smaller, less liquid tokens in search of outsized returns, allowing gains to spread quickly across dog-, cat- and other animal-themed coins while amplifying the risk of abrupt reversals.
The latest crypto advance has spilled into smaller animal-themed memecoins, with Cash Cat jumping more than 50% in a single day. Several lesser-known tokens gained roughly 50% to 130% over the past week, meaning some more than doubled during the seven-day period. The sharp moves show speculative demand reaching the market’s riskier fringes, where limited liquidity can magnify both rallies and subsequent losses.
