FIS Launches Embedded Banking Platform for Banks
Embedded finance allows companies to offer accounts and payments within accounting, enterprise resource planning and other business software. Banks risk losing customer relationships and deposit visibility when non-bank providers control that interface. FIS said its new platform is designed to keep regulated institutions at the center of the transaction, with customer accounts remaining on the bank’s balance sheet while services are distributed through third-party digital ecosystems.
FIS announced the FIS Embedded Banking Platform on Sept. 3, 2026, marking its first embedded finance product built specifically for banks. The service can be delivered through APIs, software development kits, embeddable widgets or white-label applications. Cogent Bank, Commercial Bank of California and M&T Bank are participating as pilot institutions. Accounts and payments capabilities are scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2026. FIS did not disclose the investment behind the platform or customer pricing.
