Exodus Launches XO Cash Stablecoin for AI Agents on Solana
AI agents seeking to buy data, APIs or services autonomously often need to hold private keys when using traditional crypto wallets, increasing the risk of asset misuse. Exodus and MoonPay designed XO Cash as a U.S. dollar stablecoin on Solana, backed 1:1 by dollar deposits, U.S. Treasuries and cash equivalents, allowing users to retain control of their assets and set payment rules.
Exodus formally launched XO Cash and AgentKit on May 8, 2026. Developers can create an agent wallet with a single API call, set daily and per-transaction limits, specify merchants and transaction frequency, and make transactions without fees. The system connects to Visa merchants through MoonPay and Monavate, with payments convertible into USDC or USDT at checkout. Market estimates suggest AI agents could participate in $3 trillion to $5 trillion of global spending by 2030.
