Prosus Invests $100 Million in India’s Navi
Founded in 2018 by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, Navi offers technology-led financial services spanning digital payments, lending, insurance and mutual funds. The Bengaluru-based company had largely relied on capital from Bansal, making Prosus its first outside institutional investor. The deal marks a shift toward externally funded expansion as Navi seeks to build a larger, diversified financial-services platform in India.
Navi announced on Aug. 19, 2026, that Prosus would invest $100 million through MIH Payments Holdings BV, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearance, including approval from the Competition Commission of India. The funding comes amid reports that Navi is preparing an initial public offering that could raise about 30 billion rupees, or roughly $314 million.
