Trulioo Launches AI Agent to Uncover Beneficial Owners

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-24 · Last active 2026-07-24

Identifying an ultimate beneficial owner is a core requirement in Know Your Business and anti-money-laundering checks, but corporate registries often name shareholders or directors of record rather than the people who actually control a company. Records can also lag ownership changes, while cross-border chains may disappear when jurisdictions do not share data. Trulioo is applying governed AI to this gap, aiming to replace slow manual research and customer self-certification with source-cited findings inside existing compliance workflows.

Trulioo launched its UBO Discovery Agent on July 23, 2026, combining official registries, commercial data providers, legally mandated disclosures and open-source intelligence. The company said early deployments lifted UBO coverage by 20% to 80% compared with registry-only research. In difficult markets where registries yielded usable data for well under 5% of businesses, coverage rose above 90%. An unnamed major social commerce platform became the first enterprise customer, beginning a rollout in Malaysia, Vietnam and the UK in July 2026.
