Roblox Unveils Mobile AI Tool Build to Simplify Game Creation
Roblox is extending generative AI to mobile game development with Build, a creation tool designed to turn written instructions into playable concepts. The move builds on the company’s user-generated-content model by giving aspiring creators a simpler entry point than conventional development software. By reducing the technical skills and time required to make an early prototype, Roblox aims to broaden its creator base and accelerate the supply of experiences on its platform.
Build is scheduled to enter public testing on July 28, 2026, Roblox said. Users will be able to enter text prompts on a mobile device to generate game mechanics, environments and sound effects, allowing ideas to be assembled and tested more quickly. The tool will combine Roblox’s proprietary technology with open-source models, part of the company’s effort to lower development barriers and shorten the path from an initial concept to a functioning game prototype.
