Velocity Expands Series A to $48 Million With Visa, Circle and Ripple Backing
London-based Velocity builds back-end payment infrastructure that lets banks and payments companies use stablecoins for settlement, liquidity and treasury operations without replacing their existing core systems. The company targets the plumbing connecting issuers, card networks, acquirers and merchants. Strategic backing from Visa, Circle and Ripple signals growing convergence between established payment rails, stablecoin issuers and blockchain-based settlement providers.
On Sept. 15, 2026, Velocity said it raised an additional $10 million, expanding its Series A to $48 million from the $38 million round announced in July. CEO Eric Queathem said the oversubscribed extension valued the company at $200 million post-money. Visa Ventures, Circle Ventures, Ripple, Haun Ventures, Translink Capital and Mirana Ventures participated, adding strategic support across card payments, stablecoin issuance and blockchain settlement.
