Tom Lee Says Ethereum Is Entering ‘ETH 2.0’ Phase, Eyes $250,000

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-13 · Last active 2026-07-13

Ethereum is the world’s largest smart-contract blockchain, and changes to its technology and valuation have long been closely watched. As on-chain finance and decentralized applications flourish, Ether’s role as the base currency of the on-chain economy is becoming increasingly important. The market’s view of Ethereum’s future role and long-term price prospects affects capital flows across the blockchain ecosystem and shapes institutional investors’ digital-asset allocation decisions.

In a speech at the 2026 WebX conference, BitMine Chairman Tom Lee said Ethereum was entering a new phase of valuation expansion he called “ETH 2.0.” He emphasized Ether’s critical role as the base currency of the on-chain economy and set a long-term price target that could reach $250,000. BitMine also said it would continue accumulating Ether and provide funding to support technological and application development across the Ethereum ecosystem.

Tom Lee Says Ethereum Could Reach $250,000 at Consensus 20262026-06-03 · 4 reports · similarity 0.87

Ethereum is a major blockchain underpinning smart contracts, DeFi and asset tokenization. Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine, believes the growth of corporate validators and the migration of real-world assets on-chain will drive a revaluation of ETH’s network value. In his view, this reflects institutions increasingly treating Ethereum as financial infrastructure rather than merely a crypto asset.

At the Consensus 2026 conference in May 2026, Lee outlined three ETH price targets, including a conservative scenario of about $22,000 and a high-end target of $250,000 if tokenization becomes widely adopted. He also said BitMine was accumulating about 100,000 ETH per week. A May close above $76,000 for Bitcoin could signal the end of the bear market, he added.
