Taiwan FSC Allows Dual Listings of International Bonds in Push for ‘Asian Nasdaq’

2 reports · First detected 2026-04-07 · Last active 2026-04-07

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission oversaw the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Taipei Exchange’s launch of the Asia Innovation Capital platform, or AIC, on October 21, 2025, with equities and bonds as its two pillars. Allowing international bonds to be dual-listed is intended to attract overseas issuers and capital while expanding Taiwan’s bond market and underwriting opportunities for securities firms.

The new rules took effect on March 31, 2026. The FSC announced on April 7 that foreign-currency government bonds, straight corporate bonds and Islamic fixed-income securities issued overseas and sold exclusively to professional investors could apply to the Taipei Exchange for dual listings covering their total issue amounts. As of the end of February, the international bond market comprised 1,833 issues worth US$361.9 billion, and six foreign financial groups had expressed interest.
