Rain Acquires Closed-Loop Wallet Platform Ansa
Rain provides stablecoin-powered payment infrastructure for enterprises, spanning card issuance, digital wallets and money movement. Ansa offers API-based technology that lets merchants and marketplaces launch closed-loop stored-value wallets, where funds remain within a brand’s ecosystem. Combining the businesses could give Rain a broader end-to-end payments stack while helping clients lower transaction costs, retain customer balances and link payments with loyalty incentives.
Rain announced its acquisition of Ansa on Aug. 13, 2026, without disclosing the purchase price or payment terms. Ansa co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Sophia Goldberg will become Rain’s new Head of Payments. The deal follows Rain’s acquisitions of Fern and Uptop and comes after the company raised $250 million in a January Series C round that valued the stablecoin infrastructure provider at $1.95 billion.
