AI FinTech Association Promotes ID-Selfie and Financial Fast-ID Fraud Checks

2 reports · First detected 2026-06-22 · Last active 2026-06-22

As online account opening and financial transactions become increasingly common, so do risks such as identity fraud and mule accounts. The AI FinTech Association is promoting an identity-verification system combining selfies taken while holding an identity document, AI-powered biometric recognition and Financial Fast-ID to improve confidence that applicants are who they claim to be. The technologies have been included as references in research by Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission and are gradually establishing a basis for acceptance by the courts.

The AI FinTech Association recently held a seminar titled “ID Selfie × Financial Fast-ID,” advocating the creation of a cross-sector working group spanning government, industry and academia. The group would study verification standards, data integration and practical implementation to accelerate alignment with international digital finance. The event information does not disclose the seminar's exact date, a system launch timetable or the amount of investment. The initiative remains at the consensus-building and institutional research stage.
