Dogecoin and HYPE Lead Crypto Losses as Investors Pivot to AI Stocks

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-27 · Last active 2026-06-27

Cryptocurrencies and U.S. equities are both risk assets, but investors have recently shifted toward artificial intelligence plays and steadily growing stocks. Outflows from U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs, a hawkish Federal Reserve and a stronger dollar have also weighed on crypto markets. FxPro chief market analyst Alex Kuptsikevich warned that institutional selling and leveraged-position liquidations could intensify the pressure.

CoinDesk reported on June 27, 2026, that dogecoin had fallen 9.6% over seven days to about $0.076, while Hyperliquid's HYPE had dropped 9.9%. Ether declined 8.4% to $1,581, and XRP lost 7.8% to $1.06. Bitcoin fell 5.3% for the week, touching about $58,800 on Friday before recovering to $60,345 on Saturday.
