DeFi Data Platform Zapper to Shut Down in August

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-09 · Last active 2026-07-09

Zapper is a data analytics platform that aggregates multichain assets, DeFi positions and onchain activity. It has operated for about seven years and received backing from U.S. billionaire Mark Cuban. Its closure highlights the pressure on free data services from weaker demand, constrained revenue models and fundraising difficulties following the crypto market downturn.

Zapper CEO Seb Audet announced that the company would cease operations on August 3, 2026. After considering options including a sale and additional fundraising, the team ultimately chose an orderly wind-down. The company did not disclose investment amounts, liabilities or the number of layoffs, but Audet indicated that declining market demand and difficulty securing capital were the main reasons for ending the service.
