Blue Voice Raises $6 Million for Police AI Guidance Platform

Boston-based Blue Voice was founded by Harvard Law dropout David Lawrence, former Google engineer and Harvard MBA Amit Patankar, and retired Boston police deputy chief Michael Gropman. Its AI platform gives officers real-time access to department policies, municipal ordinances and state laws that may span thousands of pages. By linking responses to original regulations rather than prescribing actions, the startup aims to reduce mistakes made when officers rely on memory, supervisors or general-purpose chatbots during fast-moving situations.

Blue Voice emerged from stealth on Aug. 31, 2026, with $6 million in funding led by SignalFire and Las Olas VC. The company said its software is used by 225 county agencies across 25 U.S. states and now handles about one officer query every minute. Its customer base expanded elevenfold over the past year, according to Lawrence. The platform also provides school maps during active-shooter emergencies and has added tools designed to help detectives investigate cold cases.
