Tokyo Exchange, Daiwa Target Taiwan’s NT$11 Trillion ETF Market
Taiwan’s ETF market has grown to NT$11 trillion ($344 billion), making it an increasingly important Asian hub for asset management and retail investing. Tokyo Stock Exchange and Daiwa Securities see an opportunity to connect Taiwan’s strong appetite for exchange-traded products with Japan’s campaign to shift household savings into investments, potentially broadening distribution and creating new channels for capital between the two markets.
Tokyo Stock Exchange and Daiwa Securities traveled to Taiwan for a forum with local financial institutions to deepen cross-border ETF cooperation. The discussions aim to move beyond reciprocal product listings toward jointly designed funds, coordinated marketing and broader market connectivity. The initiative targets Taiwan’s NT$11 trillion ETF sector while seeking to channel additional investment flows into Japanese assets and stimulate activity across both capital markets.
