Baidu’s Kunlunxin Eyes Hong Kong IPO at $50 Billion Valuation
Baidu subsidiary Kunlunxin spearheads the company’s development of AI chips and computing infrastructure. A spinoff and Hong Kong listing would give it independent access to funding and market-based valuation while helping Baidu reduce its reliance on external supplies of advanced chips. The move would be significant as demand for AI computing power grows in China and the country steps up efforts to develop chips domestically.
As of July 20, 2026, Kunlunxin was reportedly planning a Hong Kong listing targeting a valuation of as much as $50 billion, though Baidu had yet to publish a prospectus, fundraising target or listing date. Hong Kong IPO activity was also picking up, with Hefei-based Nexchip Semiconductor planning to raise nearly $900 million, primarily to fund 22-nanometer research and development. The plans underscore strong demand among chipmakers for fundraising in Hong Kong.
