Kazakhstan Central Bank Plans to Invest Up to $350 Million of Reserves in Digital Assets and Crypto Infrastructure
Kazakhstan is one of the world's major Bitcoin mining hubs, and its government has continued to develop a regulated digital asset market in recent years. The National Bank of Kazakhstan's plan to invest foreign-exchange and gold reserves in the crypto industry signals that the central bank is incorporating digital assets into its strategy for diversifying national reserves.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan plans to allocate up to $350 million from its roughly $69.4 billion in foreign-exchange and gold reserves between April and May 2026. The funds will be invested in digital assets, cryptocurrency infrastructure companies and related index funds, with the allocation to be deployed in stages depending on market conditions.
