Wasabi Report Says More Than Half of Companies Use AI for Cybersecurity Monitoring
Public cloud storage provider Wasabi released its 2026 Global Cloud Storage Index, examining how companies use the cloud and AI to manage data. As cyber threats such as ransomware intensify, cybersecurity monitoring, anomaly detection and immutable storage have become important defenses against data tampering and deletion.
Wasabi’s report found that more than 50% of companies have deployed AI for cybersecurity monitoring and anomaly detection, the highest adoption rate among the applications surveyed. Most companies have also enabled object locking. Although only about one-third of AI projects have generated a positive return on investment, 60% of companies still plan to increase AI spending in 2026.
