Musk Says Grok Imagine Will Make AI ‘Odyssey’ Feature by Year-End

Elon Musk has said xAI’s Grok Imagine will produce an artificial intelligence-generated version of “The Odyssey” after he criticized casting choices for Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation. The pledge is significant because generating a coherent action feature is far more demanding than making short AI clips: characters, locations and visual style must remain consistent across long sequences, while dialogue, sound and lip movements need to stay synchronized.

Musk said Grok Imagine would complete the full-length movie by the end of 2026, though he disclosed no runtime, budget, production team or distribution plan. Diffusion-based video systems still struggle with identity drift, continuity between shots and accurate lip-syncing over extended narratives. The announcement therefore sets an ambitious deadline for xAI, with industry observers watching whether the company can turn a series of generated scenes into a technically and narratively consistent feature.
