Samsung Taps Claude Code to Speed Chip Verification
Samsung Electronics’ System LSI division designs processors, image sensors and other logic chips, where verification is a critical but labor-intensive step before production. As chip architectures grow more complex, testing can consume weeks of engineering time and delay product launches. The adoption of Anthropic’s Claude Code highlights how semiconductor companies are turning to generative AI to automate development tasks, contain research costs and address shortages of specialized engineers.
Samsung has introduced Claude Code into parts of its chip design and verification workflow, according to the latest report. A verification task that previously took more than a month can now be completed in two days, representing an efficiency gain of roughly 15 times. The deployment is expected to narrow the division’s engineering capacity gap while allowing staff to focus on more complex design and validation work.
