OpenAI’s July ARR Additions Top Q2 as Work, Codex Users Pass 10 Million
OpenAI is accelerating its push beyond consumer artificial intelligence into the enterprise market, where annual recurring revenue, or ARR, is a key measure of subscription scale and growth momentum. Rising adoption of ChatGPT Work and coding agent Codex, alongside the launch of the GPT-5.6 model family, underscores the company’s effort to convert product usage into durable commercial revenue.
OpenAI added more ARR in July 2026 than it did during the entire second quarter from April through June, marking a record monthly increase, according to the report. The company did not disclose a dollar amount. Weekly active users for both ChatGPT Work and Codex exceeded 10 million by July, while GPT-5.6 helped accelerate enterprise deployments and commercialization.
