STX Deploys Eventus Validus for Trade Surveillance
Event contracts allow traders to take positions on the outcome of sports contests, cryptocurrency moves and other real-world developments. For an exchange overseen by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, surveillance is core market infrastructure: the venue must detect manipulative orders, coordinated activity and potential misuse of nonpublic information while preserving an audit trail for regulators. STX’s choice of an external monitoring system is therefore a key step toward establishing trust and operational readiness before its regulated market opens.
As of Aug. 6, 2026, STX said it had deployed Eventus’ Validus platform to provide comprehensive trade surveillance and risk management for the forthcoming market. The system will monitor contracts tied to sports, cryptocurrencies and other real-world events, giving STX tools to identify suspicious trading and support investigations across its venue. The companies did not disclose the value or duration of the agreement, and STX did not provide a firm launch date for the exchange.

The history behind this eventRothera Deploys Eventus Validus for Event-Contract Surveillance
Rothera operates a U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission-regulated event-contract market, where contracts are tied to the outcomes of specified events. As such markets attract more trading activity and participants, exchanges face growing pressure to detect manipulation, unusual orders and concentrated exposures in real time. Effective surveillance infrastructure is therefore central to regulatory compliance, risk management and confidence in the integrity of the marketplace.
Rothera said it has deployed Eventus’s Validus platform to provide comprehensive trade surveillance and financial-risk processing capabilities for its fast-growing exchange. The companies did not disclose the value of the mandate, an exact signing or launch date, or Rothera’s trading volumes. The implementation is intended to strengthen the exchange’s monitoring of potentially abusive or anomalous activity while improving its broader compliance controls and management of financial risks.
