CUBE Flags Three Regulatory Shifts Straining Financial Firms

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-11 · Last active 2026-08-11

Financial institutions must monitor rule changes across markets, determine which products and entities are affected, and translate obligations into policies and controls. That work has become more consequential as crypto assets blur jurisdictional boundaries and companies deploy AI within regulated operations. CUBE, a regulatory technology provider, says the widening gap between regulatory volume and compliance capacity is turning implementation delays into a material operational and enforcement risk.

CUBE’s Nov. 22, 2025 analysis covered more than 2,000 senior compliance and risk leaders at 1,300 financial institutions across 11 major markets. It found that 74% of firms needed more than a year to move from identifying a regulatory change to full implementation. The latest CUBE Read highlights three related shifts: harder applicability decisions for cryptocurrency rules, analysis workloads exceeding existing teams’ capacity, and tighter internal AI governance.
