Taiwan Stock Exchange Launches Hidden Gems Index, Eyes Related ETF by Year-End
After Taiwan stocks topped 40,000 points, investment has remained concentrated in semiconductor and AI heavyweights, making it harder for high-quality small and midsize companies to attract market attention. The Taiwan Stock Exchange has therefore launched the Taiwan Hidden Gems Index, using fundamentals to identify competitive but lesser-known market leaders. It aims to broaden investment choices and improve the distribution of market capital.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange said it expects an ETF tracking the Taiwan Hidden Gems Index to list by the end of 2026, giving investors access to growth opportunities beyond large-cap heavyweights through an index-linked product. The initiative is also part of Taiwan’s strategy to develop an Asian asset-management hub, with a focus on diversifying products and attracting long-term capital.
