McGraw Hill, Rockstar Games Reportedly Hit by Data Breaches Tied to Salesforce and AI Analytics Tools

Education publisher McGraw Hill and Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games were both named by ShinyHunters. The former incident involved a Salesforce environment, while the latter was linked to AI analytics tool Anodot and Snowflake. The cases highlight how third-party access and credentials can become supply-chain attack vectors when companies entrust customer and operational data to cloud services.

ShinyHunters added McGraw Hill to its extortion site on April 7, 2026, claiming to have obtained 45 million records. The company confirmed unauthorized access to Salesforce but said sensitive student and financial data were unaffected. Rockstar data was leaked ahead of an April 14 ransom deadline, with the hackers claiming a total of 78.6 million records. The ransom amount was not disclosed, and the company said players and core operations were unaffected.
