Tom Duff Gordon spent about 8.5 years as a banker at Credit Suisse before working at Coinbase for nearly four years. His move underscores the competition between the AI and crypto industries for policy talent.

Tom Duff Gordon recently left his role as Coinbase's vice president of international policy to join OpenAI as head of policy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Reports also said OpenAI was recruiting talent from Coinbase's team. Neither side has disclosed his exact start date, compensation or other employment terms.
