Google Reportedly Testing ‘Remy’ Personal AI Agent Internally to Expand Gemini Automation

Google is continuing to expand Gemini’s agentic AI capabilities, aiming to move the service beyond answering questions and enable it to handle complex tasks across Gmail, Calendar and other tools in the Google ecosystem. If brought to market, the technology could reshape competition in the personal-assistant market while raising issues around account permissions, data privacy and operational security.

As of July 20, 2026, Google was reportedly testing a personal AI agent internally under the codename “Remy,” positioning it as the company’s own version of a “little lobster.” Google has yet to formally announce its features, launch date, pricing or the number of test participants. The capabilities are expected to become a focus of a future Google I/O.
