AI Data-Center Demand Sends Soitec Shares Up 22% After Revenue Beat

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-24 · Last active 2026-07-24

Soitec, a French semiconductor materials maker, supplies engineered substrates including Photonics-SOI wafers used in high-speed optical transceivers for AI data centers. The technology helps move growing volumes of data between servers and accelerators, making silicon photonics an increasingly important part of cloud infrastructure. Strong AI-related demand offers Soitec a key growth engine as its mobile communications business continues to contend with customer inventory adjustments.

Soitec said on July 22 that revenue for its fiscal 2027 first quarter, ended June 28, reached €113 million, up 23% year on year at constant exchange rates and scope. The result exceeded the €107 million forecast in a Morgan Stanley analyst survey. Edge & Cloud AI revenue rose 46% to €65 million as Photonics-SOI sales doubled, prompting Soitec shares to surge 21.64% on July 23. The company also projected second-quarter revenue growth of more than 30%.
