On April 1, 2026, Tim Ayres and Dario Amodei signed an MOU on behalf of the Australian government and Anthropic covering AI safety evaluations, Economic Index data sharing and data-center investment. Anthropic also provided A$3 million in Claude API credits to the Australian National University, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Curtin University for rare-disease diagnosis, genetics and interdisciplinary research.
