CZ Says Bitcoin Will Eclipse Gold, Tokenized Stocks to Unlock Crypto Adoption

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-27 · Last active 2026-08-27

Bitcoin is often pitched as “digital gold,” combining a capped supply with global, around-the-clock transferability. Yet gold and major sovereign currencies still dominate national reserves, and any shift by large economies would require regulatory clarity, deeper liquidity and political consensus. Tokenized US equities represent a separate bridge between traditional finance and crypto, potentially giving Asian investors easier access to American shares while introducing them to blockchain-based trading and settlement.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, told the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference that Bitcoin would ultimately become more important than gold, though he said major countries may need years to adopt new reserve frameworks. Zhao also argued that tokenized US stocks could address cross-border frictions facing Asian investors, including account access, trading hours and fund transfers. He described the products as a gateway that could bring a broader public into crypto markets, without providing a specific adoption timetable or market forecast.
