Fun CEO Sees Embedded Crypto Payments Replacing On-Ramps and Bridges

2 reports · First detected 2026-08-03 · Last active 2026-08-03

Fun, founded in 2022, provides deposit, withdrawal and settlement infrastructure for platforms including Polymarket, Lighter and Aave. Crypto applications have traditionally relied on separate fiat on-ramps, off-ramps and cross-chain bridges, forcing users to navigate fragmented funding steps. Folding those functions into a single payment layer could reduce friction, lift conversion rates and make blockchain-based financial products feel more like conventional consumer apps.

CEO Alex Fine said Polymarket now processes about $3 billion a month through Fun, underscoring demand for unified funding rails. Fun announced a $72 million Series A on May 1, 2026, led by Multicoin Capital and SignalFire; at the time, it said annual transaction volume exceeded $18 billion across more than 100 countries. Fine expects standalone on-ramps and bridges to recede as platforms embed conversion, routing and settlement directly into the user experience.
