Method Financial Launches Post-Loan Borrower Risk Tracking
Method Financial says lenders typically assess a consumer’s finances before originating a loan but often lose visibility into the borrower’s changing debt position after funds are disbursed. That gap can leave institutions detecting financial distress only after missed payments or other warning signs emerge, reducing their ability to intervene early, restructure obligations or offer more suitable debt-consolidation options.
The fintech company has launched Portfolio Intelligence to continuously track changes in borrowers’ liabilities after loan origination. Chief Executive Officer Jose Bethancourt said the service is designed to help lenders identify deterioration sooner, improve debt-consolidation offers and take preventive action before borrowers default. The report did not specify a launch date, name participating lenders, or disclose customer, transaction or revenue figures for the product.
