Alibaba Unveils HappyHorse-1.0 AI Video Model, Tops Benchmark

Alibaba is expanding its generative AI push with HappyHorse-1.0, a new model targeting the text-to-video and image-to-video markets. Its performance in the Artificial Analysis Video Arena shows Chinese technology companies accelerating their efforts to catch up in global video-generation technology while competing with peers including ByteDance.

The latest benchmark results ranked HappyHorse-1.0 first in the Artificial Analysis Video Arena’s no-audio category, ahead of ByteDance’s Seedance 2.0. It tied with Seedance 2.0 for first place in the audio category. Alibaba plans to formally open API access on April 30, allowing developers to integrate the model into applications.
