Galileo Says Modern Fraud Has Outgrown Static Rules, Touts AI-Powered Real-Time Payment Controls
Max Spivakovsky, head of payment risk management at payments technology company Galileo, said static rules that block transactions based on fixed thresholds and preset conditions can no longer keep pace with rapidly evolving fraud tactics. Businesses must turn data into continuously updated decision-making systems to balance transaction speed with risk controls in a real-time payments environment.
Galileo’s latest approach uses AI to analyze transaction signals, allowing payment approvals, declines and risk models to adjust in real time. The outcome of each transaction feeds back into the data loop, enabling the system to continuously adapt to new forms of fraud. Reports did not disclose a launch date, the number of institutions adopting the solution, the value of fraud blocked or performance data, leaving the focus for now on the shift in technology and risk-control architecture.
