LayerZero, Keeta Bring Tokenized Bank Deposits Across Major Blockchains

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-23 · Last active 2026-07-23

Tokenized deposits seek to bring commercial bank money onto blockchains while preserving links to regulated banking infrastructure. LayerZero’s interoperability protocol and Keeta’s compliance-focused network are designed to let institutions move bank-grade funds across public chains for treasury and payment operations, addressing the fragmentation that has kept regulated money inside closed banking systems. LayerZero supports more than 170 public blockchains and is used by companies including PayPal, Bridge and Ondo Finance.

LayerZero and Keeta announced the partnership on July 23, 2026, enabling native transfers of Keeta stablecoins across Keeta Network, Ethereum, Solana and Base through LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard. The tokens will represent commercial bank deposits held through Bivo, a U.S.-licensed financial technology platform with access to domestic payment rails and partner banks. U.S. dollar tokens and versions denominated in eight other currencies — including the euro, yen, renminbi and pound — are scheduled for release by the end of July.
