Italy’s Exein Opens Taiwan Hub to Expand AI-Powered Runtime Security

Founded in Italy in 2018, Exein develops embedded cybersecurity for connected devices, using AI and eBPF-based monitoring to detect and block threats while systems are running. Demand is rising as the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act pushes manufacturers to build security into products throughout their life cycle. Taiwan’s central role in global semiconductor and electronics supply chains makes it a strategic base for extending such protection from software into chips, firmware and device design.

Exein said on April 14, 2026, that it had opened an Asia-Pacific operations center and Taipei office. The region now generates nearly 50% of its global revenue and recorded fivefold growth in 2025, the company said. Exein Runtime was integrated with MediaTek’s Genio platform in 2025 and with ASPEED’s baseboard management controller chips in early 2026. After raising 100 million euros in late 2025, Exein plans to use Taiwan as a springboard into Japan, China and South Korea.
