AngelList Launches USVC AI Fund, Giving Retail Investors Low-Cost Access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Other Startups

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-23 · Last active 2026-04-23

High-growth technology companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic have remained private for extended periods, leaving most pre-IPO gains to venture capital firms and accredited investors. AngelList has launched USVC, a regulated closed-end fund that gives ordinary U.S. investors indirect exposure to private companies. It lowers the asset and network barriers associated with traditional venture capital, though liquidity in the shares remains limited.

AngelList announced the opening of USVC on April 22, 2026, with a minimum investment of $500 and a 1% management fee. As of March 31, the fund had deployed about 44.34% of its capital and held stakes in xAI, Crusoe, Anthropic, Sierra, Legora, OpenAI and Vercel. xAI accounted for about 20.23% of the portfolio.
