Google Warns Coruna Spyware Can Steal Crypto From Older iPhones
Google Threat Intelligence Group, or GTIG, said Coruna is a spyware suite targeting older iPhones by exploiting security flaws in devices running outdated software. Because it can steal cryptocurrency and sensitive data, victims face not only exposure of personal information but also potentially irrecoverable losses of onchain assets.
The latest investigation found that Coruna primarily targets iPhones running iOS 13 through iOS 17.2.1, which was released on December 19, 2023. The number of victims and total losses have not been disclosed. GTIG recommends updating immediately to the latest operating system; users who cannot upgrade or who are considered high-risk targets should enable Lockdown Mode.
