Tesla Expands Robotaxi Service to Orlando and Tampa
Tesla is positioning Robotaxi as a pillar of its shift beyond electric-vehicle manufacturing toward artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and mobility services. Progress in the business is closely watched because investors see it as an important driver of Tesla’s valuation and potential future revenue. The service currently uses Model Y vehicles, operates within defined geographic zones and requires customers to request rides through a dedicated app.
Tesla said on X on July 21, 2026, that Robotaxi service had expanded to Orlando and Tampa, publishing maps of the initial operating areas in both Florida cities. Its website now lists six service locations across Florida and Texas. Chief Executive Elon Musk is expected to discuss the rollout during Tesla’s second-quarter earnings webcast on July 22 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
