Fed Report Says U.S. Crypto Use Hit 10% in 2025, a Three-Year High

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-19 · Last active 2026-05-19

The U.S. Federal Reserve continues to track crypto use through its household economics survey, assessing how digital assets affect people's investment, payment and everyday financial behavior. Because cryptocurrency has long been used primarily for investment, changes in adoption are also an important measure of its broader market penetration.

The Fed's latest report showed that about 10% of U.S. adults used or invested in crypto in 2025, the highest level in three years and the highest since 2022. Investment remained the main use, but 2% of respondents had used cryptocurrency to make payments, suggesting that its use is gradually expanding from asset allocation into transactions.
