Ethereum Treasury Company SharpLink to Join Russell Indexes
SharpLink is an Ethereum treasury company backed by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin. By holding ETH, it gives U.S. equity investors exposure to cryptocurrency market movements. Inclusion in the small-cap Russell 2000 and broad-market Russell 3000 could attract greater attention from institutional investors.
SharpLink said it will formally join the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes on June 29. The company currently holds about 873,000 ETH worth roughly $1.8 billion. Once the index changes take effect, ETFs and funds tracking the indexes may buy SharpLink shares according to their index weightings, potentially generating passive inflows.
