OKX Europe Launches USDT-to-USDC Conversion Service for MiCA Compliance

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-18 · Last active 2026-07-18

The regulatory transition period for stablecoins under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) formally ended on July 1, 2026. Tether, the issuer of USDT, the world’s largest stablecoin, has yet to secure EU regulatory authorization, leaving USDT at risk of delisting and trading restrictions in Europe. The regulatory shift has forced major cryptocurrency exchanges to adjust their strategies, reshaping a European stablecoin market worth tens of billions of dollars.

OKX Europe formally launched a one-way conversion service on July 17, 2026, allowing users in the European Economic Area to voluntarily exchange non-compliant USDT for Circle-issued, MiCA-compliant USDC. To encourage migration, OKX is offering deposit bonuses of up to 8% on assets transferred from non-MiCA platforms. The service provides a voluntary exit route, helping users move their assets safely under the new rules.
