Mega Bank Clinches Third Straight Top Trust Award
Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission launched its Trust 2.0 initiative on Sept. 1, 2020, pressing banks to expand trust services beyond conventional asset administration into elder care, succession planning, fraud prevention and cross-industry support. The policy has gained urgency as Taiwan becomes a super-aged society, making inclusive access, product innovation and asset protection key tests of how financial institutions serve older and vulnerable customers.
Mega International Commercial Bank won first place in the Financial Supervisory Commission’s latest Trust Business Development Evaluation, taking the top “Best Trust Award” for a third consecutive year. The bank also received the “Elder Care Trust Award” for the third straight year. Mega said it would continue to build its trust business around innovation, financial inclusion and sustainability while combining resources across industries to promote community fraud prevention and asset-protection services for seniors. The announcement did not disclose related business volumes or an exact award date.
