American Banker Names 70 Best Credit Unions to Work For in 2026
Credit unions are member-owned financial institutions whose ability to retain engaged staff can directly affect service quality and community relationships. American Banker’s annual workplace ranking offers a measure of organizational culture and employee benefits at a time when workplace satisfaction across the United States remains broadly subdued, making strong employee sentiment a competitive advantage in financial services.
American Banker named 70 institutions to its 2026 list of the best credit unions to work for. Employees at the selected organizations reported an 89% satisfaction rate, according to the survey, highlighting a sharp contrast with weaker sentiment across the broader U.S. workforce. The results point to workplace culture and benefits as key differentiators for credit unions competing for talent in 2026.
