Tokyo Star Bank Expands Kumamoto Branch to Capture Kyushu Growth

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-22 · Last active 2026-07-22

Tokyo Star Bank has been a wholly owned Japanese subsidiary of CTBC Financial Holding since 2014, linking its local operations with CTBC’s global network. Kumamoto has emerged as a key growth market as semiconductor manufacturers and related suppliers build out operations in the region, driving demand for corporate finance, cross-border investment, trade services and wealth management across Kyushu.

Tokyo Star Bank officially opened its relocated Kumamoto branch in central Kumamoto’s Suidocho district on July 21, 2026, moving from its previous site near Kumamoto Station. The new premises provide roughly twice the operating space, expanding capacity for corporate and individual customers. The bank said it will continue investing in both physical locations and digital financial services to help clients capture business opportunities arising from Kyushu’s expanding industrial clusters.
